Ghana has received 1,229,620 new vaccines from the United States of America Government.
On Sunday, September 5, the Ambassador of US to Ghana presented 1,229,620 more vaccines to the Ministry of Health.
Hon. Mahama Asei Seini, the Deputy Minister for Health, received these new Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
The Ministry of Health posted on facebook today, that the doses were received through Covax.
According to H.E Stephenie Sullivan; the Ambassador of United States of America, the government of United States has delivered more than 125 million doses to 80 countries.
The Sub-Saharan Africa received about 26 million doses from the Government of the United States of America.
Hon. Mahama Asei Seini expressed his gratitude to the Government of US, H. E Stephenie Sullivan, UNICEF and all other members who partook in this donation.
“The Government of Ghana, this morning received 1,229,620 doses of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccines from the United States of America through COVAX. The Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Mahama Asei Seini, who received the vaccines on behalf of the government, described the donation as best practice of cooperation between the two nations.
“He thanked the US Government, the US Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Stephanie Sullivan, UNICEF and all those who contributed to the receipt of the donation. H.E. Stephanie Sullivan said the US has delivered over 125 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to more than 80 countries including 26 million doses in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
