Bipolar is a mental health disorder that causes a change a person’s mood or energy.
This is to say that a person with this disorder may experience extreme low energy(depression) and extreme high energy (hypomania).
This swing in moods may affect a person with bipolar sense of judgment, ability to think clearly, sleep, behaviour, activities and energy.
The cause of bipolar disorder is not yet known by scientists. However, many academics believe one is highly prone to the disorder as a result of genetics, environment, chemistry and altered brain structure.

There are so many things about it that may be true and mostly false that you may have heard, read or been told.
Today, I talk about four key things about bipolar disorder that is salient to our personal knowledge bank.

There are many types of bipolar and has it’s form of symptoms. We will discuss about the symptoms collectively. Symptoms differ from the type of bipolar to bipolar.
We have type of bipolar disorders such as bipolar I, bipolar II, cyclothymic and other forms of bipolar.
Though bipolar symptoms can be seen in any stage in life. Yet, it is usually diagnosed during teen ages and the 20s.
These are few symptoms of the types of bipolar;
~Manic episodes(extreme low and extreme high energy)
~ Increased energy and less energy for sleep
~ Feeling of hopelessness and worthlessness
~ High and low sex drive
~ Becoming more impulsive

PREVENTION AND WHEN TO SEE A DOCTOR
With bipolar disorder and other mental health disorders, there is no sure way of prevention. You may only prevent bipolar disorder from worsening.
This happens when you detect the symptoms of bipolar disorder early.
These are few preventative measures to help reduce the worsening of symptoms of bipolar disorder:
~ Pay attention to symptoms of bipolar disorder discussed above
~ Take your drugs as prescribed by your doctor religiously
~ Avoid hard drugs and alcohol. They trigger symptoms.
